Started with a frustrated newsletter writer.
We started baglyafter watching a friend ship her newsletter every week. She had a great audience and great ideas but every link in every issue was a tangle of UTM parameters and tracking gunk that her readers hated and her open rates didn't love either.
The existing shorteners were either bloated dashboards trying to be marketing platforms, or rough free tools that disappeared the day they got popular. None of them just got out of the way and made a clean short link.
